The GitHub profile readme acts as a visually pleasing and attractive bio section which will be displayed on your profile page. It is a way to tell visitors about yourself, which tech stack you work upon and which projects you wish to work on. It gives visitors some added insights of your profile and work.

My Repository : https://github.com/sharannyobasu/sharannyobasu

How to get started ?

First, open GitHub and in the top right corner, click on the “+” button and click “New repository”.

Then, in the repository name, put your username. The repo name should exactly match your username otherwise you won’t be able to unlock the secret.

Since I have already made a repo with my username, the alert is being diplayed, won’t happen for you if you are creating this for the first time. Don’t forget to initialize your repo with a readme.

After the repository is created, a simple tab will appear on your profile. Which you can edit according to your convenience.

If you have experience in working with markdown files, then it should not be a big deal to make a good profile readme. Even I had to take the help of external resources in my first attempt.

I list some of them here :
